The south of Laos is even sleepier than the rest of the country - hard that it is to imagine - and dominated by the Angkorian ruins of Wat Phou and the Bolaven Plateau.
For some comfortable adventure in Laos then we highly recommend venturing to the far south and spending a couple of days on the Wat Phou Mekong Cruise from Pakse down to Khong Island via the impressive Angkorean Wat Phou ruins at Champasak.
