Nepal holidays

The remote hidden Kingdom of Nepal is landlocked between the Tibetan plateau to the north and the fertile plains of India to the south. Home to 8 of the 10 highest peaks in the world including Mount Everest, and also the birthplace of the Buddha, Nepal is as mysterious as it is adventurous.

Famed for its mountain scenery and countless trekking opportunities, Nepal also has a wealth of religious monuments with Buddhist and Hindu temples dotted around the country and traditional Newari cities in the Kathmandu Valley like Bhaktapur, Boudanath and Dhulikhel all a short ride away from the fabled capital of Kathmandu. The Nepalese are some of the friendliest people you will meet on the subcontinent and will be as integral a part of your holiday to Nepal as the mountains or the small towns will be. For nature lovers there is the majestic Chitwan National Park with its elephant safaris providing a fun way to view the remaining Bengal Tigers and rhinos as well as the crocodiles and countless birds. The trekking is the real reason why so many people come to Nepal, whether it's the popular Annapurna Circuit and Sanctuary treks easily accessible from Pokhara or the more daunting Everest Base Camp trek. The Kathmandu Valley also has some fantastic walks which can easily be done from one of the many simple tea lodges scattered around the valley. Whatever you seek in Nepal, there are many wonders to experience and Nepal would make for a truly unique Asian honeymoon.
