Activity Holidays in Asia

Diving

South East Asia holds some of the worlds best dive sites from amazing coral reefs to plenty of wreck dives of old World War II battleships off the coast of the Philippines. You can dive offshore, but liveaboards offer more diving in more remote areas.

With its clear blue waters, soft currents and excellent coral, Asia is a diver’s paradise.  From the Philippines through Borneo and into Indonesia, here you will find some of the best diving in the world. Asia has thousands of beautiful islands, coral reefs and diverse marine ecosystems with some of the most amazing tropical fish, sharks and even large turtles.

Spa

Spa holidays are becoming ever more popular, and Asia has some of the best spa resorts in the world.  Excellent trained therapists will personalise your treatments for you and chefs will design your daily diet in order to maximise the effects of your treatments.
Whether you are in need of some well-deserved rejuvenation or simply want to be pampered in stylish surroundings, we offer a wide range of spa options from traditional treatments to a week of holistic therapies or detox programmes. All our itineraries are completely bespoke so we’ll be able to put together a trip that suits your individual needs perfectly, whether you just want a spa break or would prefer to combine some spa time with some of the great sights that Asia has to offer.

Luxury Asian spa holidays are particularly popular in destinations such as Bali and India which have their own traditional spa techniques, and we at Asia Odyssey can recommend some of the finest retreats in either of those locations to match your requirements and preferences.

UNESCO World Heritage Sites

There are so many UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Asia that it would take several trips to see them all.  From historic temples on Java to whole towns in Vietnam, wander around and learn more about these incredible sites that have been preserved for posterity.
Asia has a wide and varied assortment of UNESCO World Heritage Sites including the majestic Buddhist temple of Borobudur, the Hindu Temple of Prambanan in Central Java, the Angkor Complex in Siem Reap, the town of Hoi An in Vietnam, the Taj Mahal in India, Georgetown and Malacca in Malaysia, the natural wonders of Chitwan National Park in Nepal and the beautiful Halong Bay in northern Vietnam. We at Asia Odyssey will be able to design your Asia holiday so you can see as many or as few of these amazing sites as you wish.

Food

Asian food is the healthiest, freshest, tastiest, spiciest and most diverse and vibrant food in the world. From Indian curries to Japanese noodle soups, Balinese barbecued pig to Beijing roasted duck, the food of Asia will play a great part in your holiday.
Wherever you travel in this remarkable continent you will come across the incredible local cuisine. Whether you prefer to dine at a 5-star hotel or sit with the locals at a small street-side stall or hawker centre on your Asia holiday, you will be amazed and dazzled by the blend of flavours, textures and spices that come together for an assault on the senses.

We may feel familiar with the food of Thailand, India, Japan and China from the restaurants lined up on our local high street, but the real deal is something else entirely.   For proper foodies we can arrange a dedicated culinary tour, a cooking class with a top local chef, a tour of the local food scene with a food blogger, or simply recommend where and what to eat in a particular location.

Trekking

Whether you want a short walk through minority villages in Northern Vietnam, to trek for days along the Great Wall of China or to climb up to Everest Base Camp, the trekking opportunities in Asia are endless and exciting.
At every level of difficulty, trekking in Asia is incredible.  Some of the best treks are in Nepal and northern India; with 8 of the world's 10 highest mountains, Nepal rules supreme for mountain trekking.  However with its jungles and Mount Kinabalu, Borneo holds some great walks as well.  Or why not climb a live volcano in Java to watch the sun rise  - this is an experience that will live long in your memory and a fantastic inclusion in an Indonesia family holiday.
