In Tokyo, life moves at a frantic rate; yesterday's new idea is tomorrow's forgotten dream. The city exudes an amazing energy, although it sometimes feels a bit too much like an obsession with all things new.
Centred close to the fashionable district of Ginza and adjacent to the famous Tsukiji Fish Market is the Park Hotel, offers a very individual stay whilst you are in Tokyo. The Park hotel in our view is one of the more charming hotels in Tokyo, with a lovely glass roofed atrium that creates a warming sunlight glow that gives a sensation of balance within the building. An excellent choice for Tokyo's busy hotel scene.
Close to Lake Ashi, the Yugiriso Ryokan is a modern take on the traditional ryokan or Japanese Inn and makes an excellent base to explore this stunning area. As with most ryokan, the decor is minimal and rooms with tatami flooring, sliding screen doors and a foldaway futon to sleep on. The ryokan serves traditional Japanese cuisine and is a wonderful experience whilst in the national park.
